A 1960s ranch in Historic Capitol Hill with original wood siding that has been painted over for decades.
What we do: We tear off the wood, inspect and replace any soft sheathing, wrap the walls, and install fiber cement lap siding in a color that fits the neighborhood. We handle the EPA Lead-Safe requirements because the home predates 1978.
→ The house looks new, the walls are dry, and the siding will not need paint again for a decade. Most jobs like this take four to five days.
02
A hail claim in Uptown 23rd where the adjuster approved only partial vinyl replacement.
What we do: We photograph every elevation, mark the impact points, and meet the adjuster on site to show the full scope of damage. Once the claim is settled, we install fiber cement on the affected walls and match the existing profile where we can.
→ The homeowner gets a hail-resistant wall on the storm-facing elevations and a documented claim file. The upgrade usually costs a few thousand out of pocket on top of the insurance payout.
03
A new build in Automobile Alley where the builder used cheap vinyl that is already warping in the summer heat.
What we do: We remove the warped vinyl, check the house wrap and flashing, and install fiber cement boards in a modern lap profile. We coordinate with the builder's schedule so the re-side happens before landscaping goes in.
→ The house gets the exterior it should have had from day one, and the owner avoids a second replacement in ten years. Typical timeline is three to four days.
04
A rental property in the Asian District where the owner wants low maintenance and long paint life.
What we do: We install factory-finished fiber cement boards that come pre-painted, so there is no field painting and no repaint for 10 to 15 years. We use the same flashing and house wrap detail as on a full custom job.
→ The owner stops paying for repaints every few years, and the property holds its curb appeal between tenants. Most rentals are done in two to three days.
